A large brush fire near the Lake and Orange County line had crews from multiple departments working tirelessly to bring it under control. The fire, located near 17421 Scholfield Road, was reported earlier today and quickly escalated in size.

According to the Florida Forest Service, the blaze initially spanned approximately 50 acres but later grew to 102 acres. Fortunately, officials confirmed the fire is now “100% contained.”
Firefighters from Orange County Fire Rescue, the Florida Forest Service, and Lake County Fire Rescue collaborated in the efforts to contain the fire. Crews will remain on-site in the coming days to conduct mop-up operations and closely monitor the area to prevent any flare-ups.
As a precaution, portions of S.R. 429 in the vicinity of the fire have been temporarily closed. Drivers are advised to check for updates and use alternative routes.
